posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Nintendo is listing the previously revealed Switch release of CAPCOM's Devil May Cry game as launching on June 24 in the United States. The game will launch in Japan on June 27.

Devil May Cry debuted for PlayStation 2 in 2001. A collection including the game series' first three titles launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. CAPCOM then released the Devil May Cry HD Collection set for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC in North America in March 2018.

The latest game in the franchise, Devil May Cry 5, launched on March 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Hideaki Itsuno returned to direct the game. The game features three playable characters, including Nero, the protagonist of Devil May Cry 4, and Dante, the main protagonist of the first three games.

The game franchise has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide as of March 31.

Update: The franchise's official YouTube channel also began streaming a title screen video for the release. The video lists the game for release on June 25, but Nintendo's website still lists the release date as June 24. Source: Devil May Cry franchise's YouTube channel
