New visual also revealed for ongoing TV anime

The staff of The Morose Mononokean II (Fukigen na Mononokean Tsuzuki), the second television anime season based on Kiri Wazawa's The Morose Mononokean (Fukigen na Mononokean) manga, revealed two new cast members and a new visual for the anime on Thursday.

The new cast members include:

Akira Ishida as Sakae Ashiya, Hanae's father who disappeared when Hanae was still young

Akemi Okamura as Aoi, the first generation Mononokean

The anime premiered on January 5. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan. The anime will have 13 episodes.

Crunchyroll describes the story:

he job of exorcists is to send yokai living in the mundane world for whatever reason back to the Underworld where they typically live. In order to repay his debt of one million "en" to master of the Mononokean Abeno Haruitsuki, Ashiya Hanae works as his employee, assisting him with exorcisms. One day, when the two of them return to the Mononokean after finishing a job, they receive an SOS from the Legislator, one of three major powers who govern the Underworld. They head to the Underworld immediately, where Ashiya gets caught up in an incident... The story of exorcist duo Ashiya and Abeno and the yokai resumes once again.

Itsuro Kawasaki (Magical Girl Ore, Rental Magica, Shining Hearts, Tsukiuta. THE ANIMATION) is directing the season at Pierrot Plus. Takao Yoshioka (Ikki Tousen, High School DxD, Your Lie in April) is returning to handle series composition. Mizuki Aoba (Minna Atsumare! Falcom Gakuen SC) is replacing Atsuko Kageyama as character designer.

The first television anime season premiered in 2016, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Funimation released the series on home video in January 2018.
