AnimeJapan 2019 Prepares to Rock with Sword Art Online Guitar Charity

AnimeJapan's sixth annual convention will focus on "rock" (roku) at Tokyo Big Sight from March 23-26. The event released its key visual showing characters from Code Geass to Detective Conan as band members.

The key visual, planned merchandise, and event schedule was announced at the Animate Ikebukuro head office on Friday. Hoodies and ticket holders were unveiled as well as a Sword Art Online Gibson guitar that attendees will be able to bid on for charity auction.

An entire area of the convention hall will be dedicated to artwork, merchandise, and cosplay centering on "rock" and the Production Works Gallery corner will highlight the sound behind anime, like music, special effects, and voice acting. AnimeJapan 2019 will have two presentation stages can entertain 500 each and another two stages can accommodate up to 1,000 spectators each. This year the stages are named (R)OSE RED, (O)ASIS GREEN, (C)OBALT BLUE, (K)ILLER PINK respectively. Here are the series and games that will appear on stage over the event's four days, so keep an eye out for potential announcements!

The AnimeJapan convention will hold public days on March 23-24 on Saturday and Sunday, while the business days will be held on March 25-26 on Monday and Tuesday. Thursday, March 21, is a national holiday in Japan. The event drew 152,331 attendees across four days in March 2018.
