Fate/Extella Link Switch Version Listed for January Release
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Retailers Amazon and HMV & Books are listing a Switch version of Marvelous and Type-Moon's Fate/Extella Link PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita game for release in Japan on January 31.
The new version lists the game's four-on-four multiplayer game mode (previously exclusive to the PlayStation 4 version), as well as the addition of local multiplayer. The listings also show new "Puni Puni" costumes for Nero, Tamamo no Mae, and Altera.
The game shipped in Japan for the PS4 and PlayStation Vita on June 7. XSEED Games will release the game physically and digitally for the PlayStation 4 and digitally for the PlayStation Vita in North America this winter.
The game is a new work for the Fate/EXTELLA franchise. XSEED Games and Marvelous previously released Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in North America and Europe in January 2017. The game launched for the same platforms in Japan in November 2016. Marvelous released a Nintendo Switch version in July 2017. XSEED Games also released a PC version on Steam in July 2017. The game inspired Rōto Usagi's Fate/Ikustella spinoff manga, which launched on March 6.
Kinoko Nasu wrote the game's main scenario, and Hikaru Sakurai was the scenario assistant. Arco Wada designed the characters, and Takashi Takeuchi was credited as the Fate series original character designer. Type-Moon produced the game's music.
