Diana Garnet Sings Meow Meow Japanese History Anime's New Theme

Naruto Shippūden singer's new ending debuts on November 7

The official Twitter account for the Meow Meow Japanese History (Neko Neko Nihonshi) anime announced on Wednesday that Diana Garnet (Naruto Shippūden, Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note) will perform the anime's new ending theme song "Thank You for the Music." The new theme song will debut in the show on November 7.

The anime adapts Kenji Sonishi's historical manga of the same name. The anime premiered on April 2016. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime, and it describes the story:

The many great cats throughout Japan's history are back to strut their stuff in a new season. They continue to leave their mark on history, doing whatever they want, but what else would you expect from a cat? They get bored fast, and love to sharpen their claws and take naps. They might be scared of water and loud noises, but the amount of energy they display when they get excited is something to see! What kind of history will we see them create this time around?

Garnet was born in Washington, D.C., and she moved to Japan in part to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a singer. In 2013, Garnet won the Nodo Jiman Za! World television competition, the same program that introduced fellow American Chris Hart to Japan. That win led to her first recording contract.

Garnet released her first single "Mata Kimi ni Koi Shiteru" (a cover of an earlier song, pictured below) on October 23, 2013, followed by her first full album Cover Girl on November 27, 2013. She then sang the "Spinning World" ending theme song for the Naruto Shippūden television anime, followed by the theme song "Nankai! Mystery" (Tough to Solve! Mystery) for the television anime Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note (Detective Team Kazs' Case Notes).
