'Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan' TV Anime Shorts Previewed in Teaser Video

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Shorts premiering on October 5 follow penguin chick in Kyoto

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Yukiko Natsume's Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan manga began streaming a teaser video for the series on Saturday.

The series of shorts will premiere on October 5 at 25:35 (effectively, October 6 at 1:35 a.m.) on the Tokyo MX and KBS Kyoto stations.

The "soothing short" manga follows Chitose, a fluffy Emperor penguin chick living in Kyoto. The stories depict such familiar Kyoto locales as Togetsu-kyō bridge, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine, and Kiyomizu-dera temple from a penguin's perspective, as well as Kyoto cuisine.

Kyō Yatate (Bananya, Sockie's Frontier Quest) is directing the anime and handling the series composition at the studio Gathering. Jun Mita is both the character designer and animation director, Haruko Nobori is the color designer, Yoshinobu Yamada is the art director, and Nobuyuki Abe is the sound director. Koguma is composing the music, and VAP is producing and presenting the project.

Natsume has been serializing the manga in Kodansha's Be Love magazine, and Kodansha published the third compiled book volume on March 13.
