TV anime of Square Enix RPG premieres in October

The official website for the television anime of Square Enix's Operation Han-Gyaku-Sei Million Arthur (Han-Gyaku-Sei Million Arthur) massively multi-player online role-playing game revealed the visuals and descriptions for the characters on Thursday.

Sora Amamiya as Danchō (Team Leader) Arthur, a wielder of the great sword Excalibur. She is very mature, and prefers to mediate disputes in the team, acting like both an honors student and a big sister. While she can act a bit brash at times, she is generally a strategist who prefers to analyze a situation before acting.

Himika Akaneya as Nuckelavee, Danchō Arthur's support fairy. She has an honest and straightforward personality that seems to be popular with no-good adults. She looks after Danchō Arthur almost like her mother, to the point where Danchō Arthur might be completely dependent on her.

Tetsuya Kakihara as Tekken (Iron Fist) Arthur, a wielder of the gauntlet Excalibur. He is brash, reckless, headstrong, and persistent in the pursuit of any duty given to him. He is a hot-blooded man who values friendship and camaraderie.

Rie Takahashi as Titania, Tekken Arthur's support fairy. She carries herself with a dignity bordering on overconfidence, but she has a cuteness that cannot be denied. She is often critical of Tekken Arthur, but she thinks that his brashness and spontaneity make them a perfect pair.

Ayana Taketatsu as Yamaneko (Wildcat) Arthur, a wielder of the heavy weapons Excalibur. She tends to be stoic, and never talks about her past with anyone, but she is serious when it comes to the mission. She always has her guard up, so it can be difficult for her to deal with other people.

Nao Tōyama as Coopy, Yamaneko Arthur's support fairy. She acts like an airhead, but the act is actually calculated. She gets along fine with Yamaneko Arthur, but though she often finds that she has to take care of Yamaneko Arthur, she also sees her as a rival, possibly due to her desire to be seen as the cutest.

Natsuki Hanae as Kakka (Lord) Arthur, a wielder of the grimoire Excalibur. He acts haughty and condescending, but he is also highly intelligent. He tackles all things logically, but he still has a novice's lack of practical experience, and is unused to conflict.

Yū Serizawa as Brigitte, Kakka Arthur's support fairy. She speaks like an overeager underclassman. She is one of the few people in whose company Kakka Arthur can let his guard down. She sees Kakka Arthur as childish, troublesome, and unreliable, but she also enjoys watching him mature.

Inori Minase as Renkin (Alchemy) Arthur, a wielder of the hammer Excalibur. While she carries herself seriously, and quickly wants be an adult, she moves at her own pace, and is very clumsy. She is an orphan who travels to many places, working all kinds of part-time jobs. She is always trying to taking on grown-up tasks, to the point of often overextending herself.

Suzuko Mimori as Bodach, Renkin Arthur's support fairy. She is always confident, but often trips herself up in her clumsiness. She thinks very highly of Renkin Arthur's intelligence, and places great trust in her. While neither greatly intelligent or experienced, she is often judged to be smart, largely due to the influence of Renkin Arthur.

Yūichi Nakamura as Rurō (Wanderer) Arthur, a wielder of the dual pistol Excalibur. He has lived a varied life, and has thus become quite skilled. He has a smooth personality and always takes the long view on things. While he is often seen as uncaring toward his comrades, he has his own ways of showing that he cares.

Rina Hidaka as Bethor, Rurō Arthur's support fairy. She is extremely intelligent, and her remarks often come off as derogatory. However, she actually has a very fragile personality. In her own way, she worries about the future of Rurō Arthur, who often demonstrates a lack of consideration toward both himself and the world.

Mitsutoshi Satō is directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Tsuyoshi Tamai (Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, Strike Witches) is in charge of the series scripts. Yoshinari Saito (Venus Project: Climax) is the character designer, and Masahito Onoda (Student Council's Discretion Lv. 2, No-Rin) is the sub-designer. Ken Naito (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) is the art director, and Shiho Mizoe (Amanchu! Advance) is the color designer. Yūji Kondō is credited as editor. Yoshikazu Iwanami is the sound director, and Magic Capsule is credited as the sound producer. Gō Shiina is composing the music, with Lantis as music producer. GENCO is producing the anime.

Ayaka Ōhashi will perform the opening theme song "Highlight." Himika Akaneya, Rie Takahashi, Nao Tōyama, Yū Serizawa, Suzuko Mimori, and Rina Hidaka will perform the ending theme song "KI-te MI-te HIT PARADE!" as their respective characters.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX and BS11 in October.

The game has not yet been scheduled for launch in Japan, but it launched in China on iOS and Android devices in March. The franchise is also getting the Kō-Kyō-Sei Million Arthur action game for iOS and Android devices this year.

Square Enix released its first mobile card game based on the folklore of King Arthur in Japan in 2012 as Kaku San Sei Million Arthur. South Korean publisher Gamevil brought the game to North America and Europe in 2015, after Square Enix closed the game's Japanese servers in March 2015.

The game inspired a live-action TV show in 2014, and it has also inspired the Jaku-San-Sei Million Arthur four-panel manga. An anime adaptation of the manga started streaming in fall of 2015. Square Enix also released a sequel game, titled Kai-Ri-Sei Million Arthur, in Japan in November of 2014.
