Sozo Changes C3 AFA Jakarta Convention's Date

The Anime Festival Asia convention announced on Wednesday that it has changed the dates for this year's C3 AFA Jakarta event to an as-yet unspecified date due to "unforeseen circumstances." The convention will announce the new schedule at a later date.

The event was previously scheduled for August 3 to 5. The convention will also have a Singapore event on November 30 to December 2.

Last year, Sozo partnered with Japanese content company Sotsu Co., Ltd. to bring together the Sozo's Anime Festival Asia and Sotsu's C3 brand and events, holding events in Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The new events were branded as "C3 AFA" events.

Sozo organizes the Anime Festival Asia conventions, which are held annually in Singapore, and has also previously held events in Bangkok and Jakarta. The event is one of the largest anime and Japanese pop-culture conventions outside Japan. 2015's Anime Festival Asia in Singapore drew 90,669 visitors. Aside from Anime Festival Asia and its attached I Love Anisong label, Sozo also owns JLive Asia, and organizes the Japan Music Festival brand.
