Nekopara Game Gets PS4, Switch Versions

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Neko Works' game inspired Kickstarter-funded anime project last year

Neko Works' official Twitter account announced on Monday that it will release its NEKOPARA game on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles. The company originally made the announcement at the Taipei Game Show event last weekend.

The new versions will have a new theme song, additional CG, and a new episode.

The company had announced last month that Tam-U will launch a manga version of the game in Kadokawa's Dengeki G's Comic magazine.

Sekai Project hosted a Kickstarter campaign to create an OVA based on Neko Works and Sayori's NEKOPARA adult visual novel in January 2017. The campaign ended in March after a "Slacker Backer" campaign with a total of US$1,049,552 raised.

The OVA launched on Steam in December, and Neko Works also started shipping physical goods for backers on December 26, with overseas shipments going out at the beginning of this year. The anime also screened in Tokyo on January 1.

Sekai Project released the Nekopara Vol. 1 visual novel on PC via Steam in December 2014. The company also released the Nekopara Vol. 0 fandisc prequel on PC in August 2015, and the Nekopara Vol. 2 game in February 2016. Sekai Project also released the first game in an uncensored adult version. Neko Works released Nekopara Vol. 3 in Japan on May 26, and Sekai Project released the game on Steam in English on the same day.
