Mentori LINE Stamp Gets Anime on Vertical Anime App

1st episode of new anime debuted on Thursday

Production I.G's Tate Anime (Vertical Anime) app began streaming the first episode of Mentori, an anime series based on the LINE stamp mascot, on Thursday. The anime's official Vimeo channel is streaming a segment from the first episode.

The "Mentori" mascot originates from a series of LINE stamps meant to evoke the feeling of "mendō da ga toriaezu henshin" (it's annoying, but I guess I'll reply). The stamp has been downloaded 2.37 million times, and has been nominated for the LINE Creators Stamp Award two consecutive times.

The series will run for 10 episodes, and the app will stream a new episode every Thursday.

Kazuya Ichikawa (Clean Freak! Aoyama kun) is directing the anime at increws. Nagaaki Onoue is penning the scripts.

The cast includes Kana Asumi as Mentori, Hana Saitō as Little Sister, Shinya Hamazoe as Hideyoshi, Yū Sasahara as Hiyoko, and Takuya Nakashima as Penguin.

The Tate Anime app launched this past June. The app offers short (about three-minute) anime that will update on weekdays, and each series has 10 episodes. The new anime are presented vertically for smartphones. The app is aimed at people who do not have time to watch television or do not own a television.
