PS4, PC game's November 28 release is simultaneous with Japan

Square Enix announced on Wednesday that it will release the 4K and full HD remaster of Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope game in the West on November 28 on PlayStation 4 and PC. The release date is the same day as the Japanese release.

The original game from Square Enix and tri-Ace shipped for the Xbox 360 in February 2009. An international version of the game launched in February 2010 for the PlayStation 3, and contained new content.

A PS4 HD remaster of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time Director's Cut, the third game in the franchise, launched in Japan on March 31 and in the West on May 23. A PS4 and PS Vita port of Star Ocean: The Second Story, titled Star Ocean: Second Evolution, launched in Japan in October 2015. Square Enix said it has no plans to release the game in the West.

The latest console game for the Star Ocean franchise, Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness, shipped in Japan for the PS4 in March 2016 and for the PS3 in April 2016. The game launched in the United States for the PS4 only in June 2016.

The first smartphone game in the franchise, titled Star Ocean anamnesis, launched late last year.

The video game series inspired Mayumi Azuma's Star Ocean: The Second Story manga in 1998 and its 2001 television anime Star Ocean EX. Geneon released the anime in North America. Aoi Mizuki's Star Ocean: Blue Sphere manga launched in 2002, and Akira Kanda debuted the Star Ocean: Till the End of Time manga in 2003.
