The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Gekijō Anime Gets Season 2 in October

Kuma-Jet's in-game manga already inspired 13-episode season in spring

Production on a second season based on Bandai Namco Entertainment and Kuma-Jet's The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Gekijō (The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Theater) manga has been green-lit for an October premiere on the Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and BS11 television channels. A promotional video within The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls game app made the announcement on Sunday. (Note: The Youtube video on the anime's website is region-blocked in the United States, Australia, South Korea, Mexico, and New Zealand.)

The first 13-episode anime season premiered in Japan on April 4. Each episode is five minutes long. Daisuki is streaming the series outside of Japan.

The anime stars:

Mankyū (Donyatsu, DD Fist of the North Star, Mobile Suit Gundam-san) directed the anime at the studio Gathering, where he also worked on the PUCHIM@S net anime adaptation of the Puchimas! -Petit Idolm@ster- manga. "BanNam" (Bandai Namco) is credited with the original work, and Kuma-Jet is credited with the anime's original character designs.

The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Gekijō five-panel manga is irregularly serialized in The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls social mobile game app itself, often as a tie-in to game events and other media projects in the franchise. The "cute, comical" manga follows the idols' "real" daily life that can only be found in these panels. Kadokawa's ASCII Media Works imprint published the first compiled book volume in January 2015, and the sixth volume shipped on March 27.

The manga already inspired a mini-drama on the franchise's official streamed radio program, and an anime short that debuted in November.
