Miss Monochrome Virtual Idol Character Hosts Concert at Anime Expo

King Records' virtual idol character Miss Monochrome will host a live concert at the Anime Expo event in Los Angeles in July. The original character designer and voice actress for Miss Monochrome, Yui Horie, will also be in attendance.
Miss Monochrome will release a new album, the first one in about two years, this fall.
The character of Miss Monochrome has inspired three television anime series. The first series, titled Miss Monochrome, ran for 13 episodes from October to December 2013. The second series, Miss Monochrome - The Animation- 2, ran for 13 episodes from July to September 2015. The third season, Miss Monochrome - The Animation- 3, aired from October to December 2015.
Crunchyroll streamed all three series as they aired.
This year's Anime Expo convention will run from July 1 to July 4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In addition, the convention will formally include a preview night a day before on June 30.
Guests at this year's convention include live-action Fullmetal Alchemist film director Fumihiko Sori and lead actor Ryōsuke Yamada, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? light novel series author Fujino Ōmori, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma manga co-creator Yūto Tsukuda, Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, and designer and artist Kimihiko Fujisaka. The Super Dimension Fortress Macross singer and voice actress Mari Iijima will return to the convention this year. Akira Himekawa, the manga creator duo known for their manga adaptations of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda games, are also attending the convention.
Musicians ☆Taku Takahashi, Teddyloid, and Pa's Lam System will perform at the convention's Neon District concert this year. Ali Project, Minori Chihara, GARNiDELiA, Konomi Suzuki, angela, Mashiro Ayano, Wake Up, Girls!, Walküre's Minori Suzuki and JUNNA, Love Live! Sunshine!!'s Aquors, and The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls will also perform at Anisong World Matsuri.
The event will host the U.S. Preliminary for the World Cosplay Summit (WCS) during the masquerade on July 2. Additionally, the event will screen the world premiere of the live-action Tokyo Ghoul film on July 3.
