Sword Art Online & Traditional Japan Come Together in Exciting New Collaboration, Sword Art Traditional! Now Available in US, China & Germany!

Tokyo Otaku Mode Inc. (Delaware, USA Representative Kamei Tomohide, CEO Kodaka Naomitsu, and the TOM Team) is celebrating the release of Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale by producing an original, new product line featuring the timeless aesthetics of traditional Japanese style applied to the world of Sword Art Online, known as Sword Art Traditional. This new product line will begin sales from June 2, 2017(JST) in the US, China, and Germany!

Sword Art Online is a series that has consistently garnered fans worldwide. Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale began its roadshow release in Japan on Feb. 18, 2017, whilst being screened in approximately 1,600 theaters worldwide. It became a resounding success in both Japan and abroad, claiming quite phenomenal box office revenue for an animated movie.

Sword Art Traditional was planned specifically to celebrate this occasion in collaboration with Movic Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Representative Shogo Kuniko), which took charge of the project's sales and planning. Each product's design sports signature traits thoughtfully influenced by the likes of glass manufacturer Edo Kiriko (est. 1834), Satsuma porcelain saucers, and other famous traditional crafts, while retaining the creative beauty of the world of Sword Art Online. All of the currently available merchandise will be made-to-order and sold in limited quantities. TOM aims to make these one-of-a-kind goods each meticulously handcrafted by artisans in Japan available to fans worldwide.

About Edo Kiriko:

About Kishu Lacquerware:
Kishu Lacquerware began with wooden bowls manufactured thanks to the bountiful Kishu cypress trees in the Muromachi era during the Warring States period and became widely known during the Edo period. At first, it was called Kuroe-nuri but is now referred to as Kishu Lacquerware thanks to the evolution of its technique over the years.

About Takaoka Douki:
Takaoka Douki began in the Edo period in the Kaga Domain (modern-day Toyama Prefecture) after cast
metal factories came into existence. After experimenting with metal engraving techniques on flower vases, Buddhist altar equipment, and other cast metal items, they pioneered Karakanei-mono (gold carvings). These were especially popular in Paris, France where they were displayed at various exhibitions during the Meiji era.
