The Digimon Adventure Fes. 2016 event offered a tribute to late singer Kōji Wada on July 31 with its limited-edition Digimon Song Best of Kōji Wada album. The franchise announced on Saturday that another compilation CD for Wada is getting a wider release.

Kōji Wada Digimon Memorial Best features 19 songs that Wada performed for various Digimon anime. The songs include Digimon Adventure opening theme song "Butter-fly," Digimon Adventure 02 opening theme song "Target ~Akai Shougeki~," and Digimon Tamers opening theme song "The Biggest Dreamer." The CD also includes the collaborative singles "an Endless tale" and "Mirai e no Tobira ~Ano Natsu no Hi kara~."

Digimon series character designer Kenji Watanabe created an illustration for the "-sketch1-" version of the album, and Digimon Adventure tri. character designer Atsuya Uki created an illustration for the "-sketch2-" version. Both versions contain the same songs, and they will ship for 3,129 yen (about US$27) each on January 25.

"Butter-fly" was Wada's major debut, and a new version of the song featured as the opening theme for the first Digimon Adventure tri. film. The fourth film in the six-part anime film series, Digimon Adventure tri. Sōshitsu (Loss), will open in Japan on February 25. Select theaters in Japan will screen the film for three weeks, and it will debut for paid advance streaming on the same day. Theaters will also sell a limited-edition version of the film's Blu-ray Disc. The official website for the fourth film unveiled a visual in October:
