posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Both books slated for November release

Malaysian publisher Gempak Stars announced on Thursday that it has licensed Sakura Tsukuba's Irama Dara Langit (Sora no Oto) manga, and Takeshi Matsuyama's Iris Di Kala Hujan (Ame no Hi no Iris) light novel. The company will publish both books this month.

Irama Dara Langit centers on two people: Reo, who is aiming to be a musician, and Suzu, a student at a prestigious university. The two could not have been more opposite of each other, but an unforeseen mishap forces them to to start living as roommates.

Tsukuba launched the manga in Hakusensha's Ane LaLa magazine in 2013, and ended it in the same year. Hakusensha published the manga's one compiled book volume in June 2014.

Gempak Starz describes Iris Di Kala Hujan:

Iris Rain Umbrella is a housemaid robot developed by leading robot developer Wendy von Umbrella. As Iris tends to Professor Umbrella's household, she spends a happy, quiet life of peace. But a series of tragedies visits Iris' life, and her quiet existence is turned around into one of cruelty in an unfair reality. When Iris meets two fellow robots, they will learn what it means to live.

Matsuyama and Kadokawa published the novel in 2011. Matsuyama published a prequel novel titled Ame no Hi no Iris: Boku no Shukudai in 2012. The original novel won 10th place in the 2012 edition of Takarajimasha, Inc.'s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! list, and was in the top 10 list of Hayakawa Publishing's "SF ga Yomitai!" list in its S-F Magazine for 2012.
