SaikouCon 2016 Announces REAKT as Musical Guest
Convention to bring Featured Guest, Koralene Cosplay, to Zenkaikon X promo booth for Photo Ops
3/29/16 Lake Harmony, PA – SaikouCon, which means "best convention", is the large scale, annual anime convention of the Pocono Mountains. Boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans, SaikouCon is excited to be the only large scale annual convention dedicated exclusively to anime, manga, and Japanese culture and pop culture in this area of Northeast Pennsylvania. The convention grew out of web magazine Anime Ate My Brain Magazine; the sibling to music focused web magazine, Tastes Like Rock! Music Magazine. Both journalistic endeavors fall under the publishing wing of Nerdy Rock 'n Roller Productions.
The convention promises to remain very hands on and attendee friendly every year, while also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon 2013, 2014, and 2015 safe havens for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2016. SaikouCon 2016 will feature many diverse and entertaining panels, workshops, activities, events, screenings, gaming tournaments, and much more!
SaikouCon is happy to announce Musical Guest REAKT for convention's 2016 Cosplay Concert on SaikouCon Saturday! REAKT is a Japanese artist from Tokyo, Japan currently living in the USA. His music is a mix of Japanese Pop, EDM, and Hip Hop. His musical purpose is to spread his sound and message to the world. This is REAKT's first time performing at SaikouCon, he will be bringing his signature mix of Jpop, EDM, and Hip Hop original songs to the convention; some written and performed in REAKT's native tongue, Japanese, and others in English. REAKT, originally from Tokyo Japan, has performed at various venues in Tokyo and has performed at several venues and events from Boston, MA to New York City; this is his first time in Pennsylvania as well.
SaikouCon will also have a promotional booth, that they are working hard to turn into a party booth, at Zenkaikon X in Lancaster, PA April 1-3. Coming to the Zenkaikon X with the SaikouCon crew will be SaikouCon 2016 Featured Guest, Koralene Cosplay! Koralene will be at the SaikouCon booth in Zenkaikon's Merchant Hall on Saturday, April 2 from 2 PM until 3 PM for a free Photo Op for all Zenkaikon X attendees! Make sure to stop by the SaikouCon booth if you're attending Zenkaikon X, the Saikou Crew will also be holding a VIP badge giveaway for the convention's 2016 show this August exclusively for Zenkaikon attendees, maybe a few other giveaways, and this will be the last chance to pick up a SaikouCon 2015 t-shirt before they're gone for good if you haven't gotten one yet.
SaikouCon 2016's Artist Alley and Vendor registrations are both open as well and filling fast, as of this statement Artist Alley only has four spaces left open. Spaces for both merchants will be 8 X 5, include a table, two chairs, waste basket, and Wi-Fi access. Merchant registrations opened on January 11, 2016 and will remain open until July 1, 2016 or until both the Merchant Hall and Artist Alley are both sold out; whichever comes first. Spaces are primed to sell as fast as the record sale times set for the convention in 2015, so don't wait too long if you wish to sell at SaikouCon 2016!
