This year's 30th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing on Monday that amazarashi will perform the new opening theme song "Sora ni Utaeba" (If I Sing in the Sky) for the second season of the My Hero Academia television anime series. The band previously performed theme songs for Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace and Tokyo Ghoul √A.

The issue is also revealing that Kenichi Ogata (Ranma ½ 's Genma Saotome, To Love-Ru's Principal) will voice the character Gran Torino. Gran Torino is a veteran hero who once taught All Might.

LiSA will perform the second season's new ending theme song "Datte Atashi no Hero" (Still My Hero). The new opening and ending themes will debut with the second cour of the anime, which will debut on July 8.

The second season premiered in Japanese with English subtitles on Crunchyroll and Hulu on April 1, and FunimationNow is streaming the English dub. The anime is listed with 25 episodes. The new season has so far covered the U.A. Sports Festival arc of Kōhei Horikoshi's original manga.

The anime's first season of 13 episodes premiered on the MBS/TBS channel in April 2016. Funimation streamed the series in Japanese with English subtitles in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland as it aired in Japan. The company also streamed a broadcast dub.

Horikoshi's original manga also inspired an event anime that screened in Tokyo in November and then in four other Japanese cities in December. The anime shipped on DVD in Japan with a limited edition of the 13th volume the manga on April 4. A second OVA shipped on DVD in Japan with a limited edition of the 14th volume on June 2.
