Sanrio Gears Up for Its 2016 Character Popularity Poll

Sanrio and its huge stable of character mascots are gearing up for this year's character popularity poll. The voting will kick off on April 10 and last through June 19. The winners will be announced at Puroland on July 2.

Sanrio has over 450 different characters, however only 100 are up for vote. New choices include Rilu Rilu Fairilu from Rilu Rilu Fairilu ~Yōsei no Door~, Diet member Pepepepen from Sanrio's collaboration DLE, Little Lovin', Chinjūmin & Gō-chan, Tooth Gourmand Style, Chūnen Heroine Ojisan's, Osake-tachi no Nichijō, and Aggressive Retsuko.

Last year, Pom Pom Purin ranked #1, followed by Show By Rock!! band ShinganCrimsonZ and Cinnamoroll.
