Singer DAIGO, Actress Keiko Kitagawa Announce Marriage

Singer and BREAKERZ band member DAIGO (DAIGO Naitō) revealed on his blog that he and actress Keiko Kitagawa entered their names into a family register on Monday, effectively announcing that they have gotten married.

DAIGO added in the blog, "from now on the two of us want to build a rock-and-wish home where we won't be able to suppress our fun, smiling faces."

Japanese newspaper Sports Hochi had reported in October that the two were engaged, and that DAIGO proposed to Kitagawa after doing NTV's "24-Hour Television 38" 100-kilometer charity marathon run in August.

DAIGO debuted in 2003 under the performing name DAIGO☆STARDUST, before changing it to just DAIGO after forming BREAKERZ in 2007. BREAKERZ has performed various theme songs for Detective Conan (Case Closed). DAIGO also performed the first opening theme song for Cardfight!! Vanguard: Legion Mate-Hen as part of the Bushi★7 unit, and as a solo artist he performed the second opening theme song for Cardfight!! Vanguard: Link Joker Hen.

DAIGO also voiced a role based on himself in the Cardfight!! Vanguard: Link Joker Hen and Cardfight!! Vanguard: Legion Mate-Hen anime, and voiced a similar role based on himself in the Love Stage!! anime (DAIGO is the blood-related younger brother to original Love Stage!! manga creator Eiki Eiki).

Kitagawa debuted in the live-action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon series as Sailor Mars. She appeared in the 2006 movie The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and has since then played roles in many television dramas and films, such as the live-action adaptation of Ai Yazawa's Paradise Kiss manga, and the My Little Nightmare (Akumu-chan) series.

DAIGO and Kitagawa met during a drama they appeared in together in 2011, started a friendship in spring 2014, and Sports Hochi reported in fall 2014 that they were dating.
