With the end of the year around the corner, Japan has ranked up the most popular baby names of the year. List have been compiled for the top 10 boy names and top 10 girl names with many babies sharing namesakes with popular anime characters.
For the boys, the most popular name is Yūma.
The second most popular name is Minato and the third most is Ren.
The most popular girl name of the year is Aoi.
Yuina is the second most popular girl name, with Rin being the third.
