Kantai Collection -KanColle- Arcade Game's Cabinet, Screenshots Unveiled

Game features controls based on ship's helm, 3D models of characters shown

Sega unveiled the arcade cabinet, screenshots, and character models from the arcade game of the Kantai Collection -Kan Colle- browser game on Friday at its JAEPO (Japan Amusement Expo) booth. Sega also unveiled posters showing the 3D models of some of the characters in the game at the convention at the Makuhari Messe center in Chiba.

The game cabinet has controls modeled after a ship's wheel and engine order telegraph lever to control the timing of volleys and how the player fleet can search for enemy fleets. It also features 3D animated models of the characters. Like the original browser game, the game will have a home port interface where the player can manage resources and check the status of their ships.

Sega held location tests for the arcade game between January 23 and January 25 at the Club Sega Akihabara in Tokyo. Sega will release the game in summer 2015.

Kadokawa Games launched the original free-to-play browser game with the service provider DMM.com in April 2013. In the game, players compete with cards featuring female moe characters inspired by Japanese World War II warships such as aircraft carriers, battleships, and cruisers. Players build, organize, and repair their anthropomorphized fleet to progress through maps.

A PlayStation Vita port of the game, directed by the original browser game's producer and director Kensuke Tanaka, is slated to ship this spring.

The television anime adaptation of the mobile card game premiered in Japan on January 7, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.
