Square Enix Offers Card Battle RPG Million Arthur on 3DS

posted on by Kyle Cardine
Free-to-play game to debut on October 22 in Japan

Square Enix announced on Wednesday that the online card battle role-playing game Kaku-San-Sei Million Arthur will debut on the Nintendo 3DS system on October 22 in Japan. While the game will be free-to-play, items within the game can be purchased. The new version will take advantage of the 3DS system's features such as the dual screens.

The first Kaku-San-Sei Million Arthur game launched on the iPod Touch, iPhone, and Android devices in 2012. There is also a PS Vita port. A live-action adaptation was announced in August.

The card battle role-playing game centers on the true King Arthur who pulls a sword from a stone — except there are a million people who claim the title, each with an Excalibur sword.

J.C. Staff animated the original game's opening animation sequence, and Ken'ichi Maeyamada (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, MM!, Shining Hearts: Shiawase no Pan-) wrote, scored, and arranged the featured "Million of Bravery" song for singer ChouCho (Eiyū Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki The Animation, Heaven's Memo Pad).

Kazuma Kamachi (A Certain Magical Index) has been writing for the game. A team of more than 50 illustrators are working on the Kaku-San-Sei Million Arthur cards, including major figures such as Kiyotaka Haimura (A Certain Magical Index), Yūichi Tanaka (A Certain Magical Index, Natsu-iro Kiseki), Hidari (Fractale, Natsu-iro Kiseki), Miho Takeoka (Bungaku Shōjo), Suzuhito Yasuda (Durarara!!, Yozakura Quartet), BUNBUN, Takehito Harada (Disgaea), Kouhaku Kuroboshi (Sky Girls), Tinkle (Ro-Kyu-Bu!), VOFAN (Bakemonogatari, Tokitowa), and Yasu (Toradora!). Hyadain is composing the soundtrack.
