Voice Actor Rap Project Hypnosis Mic Gets Smartphone Game in 2019

Last year, 12 voice actors were split into four teams to take part in a unique project "Hypnosis Microphone -Division Rap Battle." The voice actors rap in the personas of original characters designed by Idea Factory and Otomate, with a scenario written by Yūichirō Momose (My First Girlfriend is a Gal, Fate/Zero). The four groups were divvied up as different large cities; Ikebukuro, Yokohama, Shinjuku, and Shibuya.
Since the project's launch last October, HypMic performed at the Animate Girls Fest in November, released an introductory music video, and geared up for its next wave of promotion this year with new songs, voting events, and merchandise. Things are going to get even bigger for the HypMic crew as 2019 approaches.
The official Twitter account for Idea Factory's Otomate brand announced 10 new projects for the Nintendo Switch and smartphones on Sunday, including a Hypnosis Microphone smartphone game slated for next year.
The Hypnosis Mic performers are Ikebukuro Division Buster Bros (Subaru Kimura, Haruki Ishiya, Kōhei Amasaki), Yokohama Division Mad Trigger Crew (Shintarō Asanuma, Shin'ichirō Kamio, Wataru Komada), Shinjuku Division Matenrō (Shō Hayami, Ryūichi Kijima, Kent Itō), and Shibuya Division Fling Posse (Yusuke Shirai, Sōma Saitō, Yukihiro Nozuyama).
The project's third live event will be held at Odaiba's Zepp DiverCity on November 17. A limited-time shop at the Ikebukuro Marui department store will sell Hypnosis Mic goods starting on October 2. Fittingly, the items are Halloween themed.
