Watch Spriggan's Minagawa Draw His Latest Manga Kaiō Dante

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Spriggan and Project ARMS artist Ryōji Minagawa launched his latest manga Kaiō Dante ("Dante" Ocean King) in Shogakukan's Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine in December 2015.

The story follows a boy living in the middle of the 18th century during the height of sea exploration. To celebrate the release of the manga's second volume, Minagawa is giving away a drawing to one lucky winner via lottery. Users need only share a video of Minagawa drawing Dante with the hashtag "#皆川亮二" ("Minagawa Ryoji") on Twitter before February 10.

Viz Media published three volumes of Minagawa's Spriggan manga as Striker in North America from 1998 to 1999. Viz also released all 22 volumes of his Project ARMS manga in North America from 2003 to 2009. The Spriggan manga was adapted into an anime film in 1998, while Project ARMS was adapted into a 26-episode television anime series in 2001. Minagawa launched the ongoing Peace Maker manga (no relation to the similarly titled manga by Nanae Chrono) in Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine in 2007.

Minagawa and storywriter Eri Oka serialized the 11-volume Adamas manga from 2007-2014 in Kodansha's Evening magazine.
