The video confirms that the new anime sequel will cover the battle with Tōin Academy in the Tokyo regional playoffs for the All Japan High School Soccer Tournament.

The first anime premiered on July 2, and it ended with 24 episodes on Sunday. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan. Ponycan USA plans to release the series in the United States.

The story centers on two boys who were never meant to meet: Tsukushi Tsukamoto, who has no special skills but secretly hides a passionate heart, and Jin Kazama, an isolated soccer genius. On a stormy night, the two meet, and that meeting creates a whirlwind in the world of high school soccer.

Yasuda launched DAYS in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in April 2013, and Kodansha published the 19th compiled volume on October 17. Kodansha will publish the 20th compiled volume on January 17. Amazon is currently listing that limited editions of the manga's 21st and 22nd volumes will both bundle DVDs, but the listings don't give any details about what the DVDs will contain. Amazon lists the 21st volume as shipping on March 17, and the 22nd volume as shipping on May 15.

The manga was nominated in the Best Shōnen Manga category for Kodansha's 39th Annual Manga Awards in 2015, and it ranked at #12 on the Honya Club website's "Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics of 2014" list.

Saori Otoha launched a spinoff manga in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket manga app in October.
