Cup Noodles Continues Its Final Fantasy XV In-Game Campaign in Weird Ad

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

In September, Square Enix revealed that Nissin Cup Noodles would appear in Final Fantasy XV, going so far as adding a noodle-themed side quest. Fans were somewhat incredulous as to the results.

In the companies' latest crossover ad, Square Enix and Nissin have repurposed an original Final Fantasy XV ad to include Cup Noodle cups, giant tea kettles, and Noctis in a hat that we can only hope soon becomes actual DLC.

The collaboration even has its own special webpage with "character profiles" of its different flavors. The site also reveals a longer, 30-second ad will be coming soon.

Nissin and Square Enix share a "neighborly friendship," as their buildings are located only a three-minute walk from one another. Nissin sent over gifts to celebrate the game's launch, sparking a discussion that eventually lead to the commercial and website.

Cup Noodle has previously collaborated with Ultraman, Dragon Ball Z, samurai, Girls und Panzer and Attack on Titan.

Final Fantasy XV launched on Tuesday, November 29 outside Japan after a delay. The game has a Deluxe Edition, which comes with a steelbook case, a copy of the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV film, and three DLC items, including: a Royal Raiment outfit, a Masamune weapon, and a Platinum Leviathan recoloring of the Regalia vehicle. The Deluxe Edition is available for US$89.99.
