Sōji Ishida Launches YU-NO Sci-Fi Game's Manga Adaptation

Remake of game by MAGES., 5pb. shipped on March 16

Kadokawa's Comic Clear website launched the first chapter of the manga adaptation of MAGES., 5pb. Games, and Hiroyuki Kanno's Kono Yo no Hate de Koi o Utau Shōjo YU-NO (YU-NO: A girl who chants love at the bound of this world.) visual novel on March 14. Sawji Ishida is drawing the manga. The next chapter will debut on April 14.

The original game also inspired a manga adaptation by Mario Kaneda (Girls Bravo, Saving Life), which ran in Enix's (now Square Enix) G Fantasy magazine from 1997 to 1998.

MAGES. and 5pb. Games' released a remake of the game in Japan for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on on March 16 after a second delay. The game was originally slated to ship on February 2016, but was delayed to further improve on the game's quality and to conduct a code of ethics inspection. The game was then slated to ship on November 17, but the staff delayed the release to make the system screens easier to play and navigate through.

The "Original NEC PC-9800 Series Edition" of the remake was also released on March 16, after being delayed from its December 26 release date. December 26 marked the 20th anniversary of the original game's release.

An anime adaptation of the game has been green-lit. Game developer MAGES., production company GENCO, and anime studio feel. are partnering for the anime project.

The original, critically acclaimed 1996 game for the PC-98 computer platform inspired the four-part 1998-1999 adult anime YU-NO. 5pb. then released the game for the Sega Saturn in 1997 and for Windows PC in 2000.
