Crunchyroll Streams Haikyu!! 3rd Season Anime

Series premieres Friday

Crunchyroll announced on Friday that it will stream the third season of the Haikyu!! anime (Haikyu!! Karasuno Kōkō VS Shiratorizawa Gakuen Kōkō) as it airs in Japan. The first episode will premiere on Friday, October 7 at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

The stream will be available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden Finland, Denmark, Turkey, and Latin America.

In Japan, the anime will premiere on October 7 at 25:55 (effectively October 8 at 1:55 a.m.) on TBS, and it will also air on the MBS, CBC, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, HBC, TBC (Tohoku Broadcasting Co., Ltd.), and BS-TBS channels.

The staff is returning from the first two seasons. Susumu Mitsunaka is again directing the series at Production I.G with assistant director Mariko Ishikawa. Taku Kishimoto is handling series composition and Takahiro Kishida is designing the characters. Yūko Yahiro is joining Takahiro Chiba as a chief animation director. Hiromi Kikuta is serving as sound director and Yuuki Hayashi and Asami Tachibana are composing the music. Burnout Syndromes is performing the opening theme song "Hikariare," and NICO TOUCHES THE WALLS is performing the ending theme song "Mashi Mashi."

The first anime season premiered in April 2014. The second season premiered in October 2015. Sentai Filmworks has licensed and released the first season on home video, and has also licensed the second season. Crunchyroll streamed both seasons as they aired.

The anime franchise also received two compilation anime films in July and September of last year.

Viz Media published the fourth volume of the original manga in North America on on Tuesday.
