Yuri!!! on Ice Skating Anime Revealed by MAPPA

A website opened to announce Yuri!!! on Ice, an original anime about "authentic" figure-skating. The website lists manga creator Mitsurou Kubo (Moteki, 3.3.7 Byooshi), director Sayo Yamamoto (Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Michiko & Hatchin), and the anime studio MAPPA (Garo the Animation, Rage of Bahamut Genesis, Ushio & Tora), although it does not specify the staff roles for Kubo and Yamamoto.
The Avex Pictures booth at the AnimeJapan 2016 will present a new promotional video, details on the cast, and more information on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Kubo and Yamamoto are scheduled be at the presentation.
Yamamoto already directed an "Endless Night" short featuring figuring skating for the Japan Anima(tor)'s Exhibition (Japan Animator Expo) project from Studio Khara and Dwango last August. Atsushi Kamijo designed the characters for the short and Kenji Miyamoto handled choreography. Eiji Abiko served as key animation director.
