Sailor Moon Musical Gets 1st Overseas Run in Shanghai

Musical starring Sailor Chibi Moon, Sailor Pluto, Prince Demande, Saphir opened in Tokyo on Thursday
The official website for the Sailor Moon franchise announced on Thursday that the a performance in Shanghai of the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Petite Étrangère musical is scheduled to be held in January. The Shanghai play will be the very first performance of any Sailor Moon musical outside of Japan. More details will be listed on the official website at a later time.
In addition, the staff announced that a DVD release of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Petite Étrangère has been green-lit, and pre-orders are being held at the musical's showings in Tokyo. Those who pre-order the DVD at the venue will receive a ticket-holder with Naoko Takeuchi's designs on it. Those who purchase the previously-released DVD of the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon La Reconquista musical will receive an alternate jacket for the DVD case featuring an illustration by Naoko Takeuchi.

The musical opened in Tokyo on Thursday, and will be performed there until August 31. Performances in Osaka will be held from September 5 to 7.
