Ghostly Sadako Appears on the Pitcher's Mound...Again

The Ring's Sadako is once again haunting the baseball fields of Japan. The ghostly figure appeared on the pitcher's mound at Sapporo Dome on May 12. She wasn't actually there to scare the crowd; Sadako pitched the first ball for the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters vs Saitama Seibu Lions game. The cursed pitch was captured on video but watch at your own risk.
This marks Sadako's second foray as a baseball pitcher. She appeared at the as part of the season-opening ceremony before a game between the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and Chiba Lotte Marines also on May 12 in 2012. Her game has greatly improved in the last seven years.
The live-action horror film Sadako will open in Japan on May 24. The film is based on Koji Suzuki's novel Tide, the sixth and latest installment in the Ring novel series that has inspired the film franchise.
The latest film in the Japanese franchise was a crossover film with the Ju-on horror franchise titled Sadako vs. Kayako. The film debuted in January 2017.
