Dragon Ball Holds Official 3K Run in Japan in September

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Most anime fans know the physical prowess of Dragon Ball's Goku is nothing to trifle with. However, the character seems eager to prove he is a versatile athlete with speed to match his brawn. The anime franchise is holding the official "Dragon Ball Run" in Japan this September.

The text in the promotional video reads, "A new Dragon Ball legend starts running now."

The foot race billed as "the world's first Dragon Ball fan run" will feature a course that is about three kilometers (about 1.86 miles) long. All participants will receive matching T-shirts to wear during the race. In addition to the race, the event will feature character photo spots and special activities that will offer themed items. Voice actors and singers related to Dragon Ball will also attend.

The event will be held at Chiba Prefecture Makuhari Seaside Park in Chiba on September 10 and at Rinku Beach in Tokoname, Aichi on September 23. The participation fee will be 6,800 yen (about US$61) for adults and 3,800 yen (US$34) for children. The registration period will open on July 3.

Taiwan hosted the "Naruto Run 2016" road race, and Yowamushi Pedal got an official cycling team last year.
