IDOLiSH 7 Project Gets 2nd Manga by Arina Tanemura

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Idolish 7, Bandai Namco's fictional male idol group multimedia project, is getting a second manga but the project's original character designer Arina Tanemura. The manga is titled Idolish 7 MEZZO: Murasaki Ao no Hekireki (Idolish 7 MEZZO: The Purple-Blue Thunderclap). The story follows the MEZZO idol group introduced in the game and chronicled in the novel IDOLiSH 7: Ryūsei ni Inoru (Idolish 7: Prayer to the Shooting Star) by Bunta Tsushimi. MEZZO is a duo consisting of Tamaki Yotsuba (KENN) and Sogo Ohsaka (Atsushi Abe) from within the Idolish 7 group.

Tanemura will launch the manga in November issue of Hakusensha's LaLaDX magazine on October 8. The same issue announced that Tanemura will adapt the novel's "Ryūsei ni Inoru" and "Cooler and Pants" stories.

Tanemura ended the IDOLiSH 7 TRIGGER -before The Radiant Glory- manga in the same magazine and the only compiled volume will go on sale on August 18. Another Idolish 7 manga by Yamada no Koshi is currently serialized in Melody.

The September issue of LaLaDX also includes a four-panel comic by Tanemura and a special edition comic by Yamada no Koshi.

The multimedia project is celebrating its one-year anniversary with the release of i7 album on August 24, Idolish 7-themed cafes, and an Ichiban Kuji lottery.

The members of Idolish 7 are: Toshiki Masuda as Iori Izumi, Yusuke Shirai as Yamato Nikaidou, Tsubasa Yonaga as Mitsuki Izumi, KENN as Tamaki Yotsuba, Atsushi Abe as Sogo Ohsaka, Takuya Eguchi as Nagi Rokuya, and Kenshō Ono as Riku Nanase. The members of rival Trigger idol group are Gaku Yaotome (Wataru Hatano), Ten Kujō (Sōma Saitō), and Ryūnosuke Tsunashi (Takuya Satou).

Bandai Namco introduced the new idol duo "Re:vale" in the mobile game as part of its second chapter. The duo includes Momo (voiced by Sōichiro Hoshi) and Yuki (voiced by Shinnosuke Tachibana). The characters' names are written with the kanji for "hundred" and "thousand," respectively.
