Video Promises To Keep You Alive & Happy at Comiket

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Twitter users prepped Comiket first-timers last month with useful advice on the hashtag, #誰も教えてくれないコミケの常識 (Common Comiket Knowledge No One Ever Tells You). Now the Morinaga candy company (the makers of Hi-Chew) created an English-subtitled video to help visitors survive "one of the most severe events on Earth." The video is hosted by Niji no Conquistador idol Moe Tsurumi.

The video starts out with a Mad Max-esque wasteland and advises visitors to take care to avoid heat stroke. Tokyo Big Sight is shown as a sort of floating fortress among a sea of visitors. Besides heat stroke, the video also advises to listen to event staff, clearly state your order at any booths, use small money denominations, and teaches proper line etiquette.

The how-to video is actually a somewhat subtle ad for Morinaga's in Jelly nutritional drink pouches. Whether you opt for a nutritional drink or just water, staying hydrated is important whether you're at Comiket or Anime Expo.
