Hello Kitty Cafe Teams Up With Monogatari Series

Hello Kitty has a long history of collaborating with other properties, from One Piece to professional wrestling. This time, Kitty is teaming up with NisiOisin's Monogatari series with themed foods, drinks, and merchandise at THE GUEST Cafe & Diner at Shibuya Parco from December 5 to 25.

Special goods include ballpoint pens, towels, tumblers, clear files, post cards with stickers, rubber mascot charms, can badges, and acrylic mascot charms.
Those who might be feeling peckish after shopping can enjoy a trio of sliders with ham and cream cheese, fried fish, and beef patties; or a donut platter for 1,880 yen (about US$16).
The special drink menu includes a variety of character-inspired soda drinks with cotton candy (880 yen [about US$7.44]) and a Hello Kitty latte, which comes with a special macaron (750 yen [about US$6.34]). Each drink order also comes with a collectible coaster.
Of course, those who want to enjoy Hello Kitty's 40th anniversary without the Monogatari girls can enjoy THE GUEST's plethora of Kitty-centric items, with food options including hot beef stews, turkey sandwiches, roast chicken, apple pie, cheese cake, and a parfait. Drinks include iced or hot lattes, red or white wine, sparkling soda drinks, and special Hello Kitty-label Beaujolais-Villages nouveau red wine. Diners in an especially Christmas-ey mood can enjoy the Hello Kitty x Nutcracker menu, which comes just in time to celebrate the re-release of Sanrio's stop-motion Nutcracker film.
