Convention also hosting hip-hop group Home Made Kazoku

The organizers of FanimeCon announced on Friday that director Hiroyuki Kanbe will appear as a guest of honor and hip-hop group Home Made Kazoku will perform at the convention in San Jose, California.

Kanbe debuted as an animator in 1988 before making his directorial debut in 2009 with Viper's Creed. He has contributed to series like Oreimo, Rosario + Vampire, Kurau: Phantom Memory, Full Metal Panic!, Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files, Rurouni Kenshin, and more.

Home Made Kazoku is composed of vocalists Micro and Kuro along with DJ U-ichi. Micro and Kuro both lived in the United States; Micro grew up in Kentucky, while Kuro lived in Chicago until he was 12. The group formed in 2004 and have since performed theme songs for Bleach, Eureka Seven, Naruto Shippūden, and Naruto Shippūden the Movie: Bonds.

FanimeCon will take place May 23-26. The convention is also hosting GAINAX anime director Hiroyuki Yamaga and author Gilles Poitras.
