Amazon Signs Deal With Fuji TV to Exclusively Stream Noitamina Series

Amazon and Fuji TV announced on Thursday that they have signed a deal for Amazon's Amazon Prime Video service to exclusively stream series from Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block going forward. Additionally, the first episode of new Noitamina shows will stream on Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday at midnight (technically Thursday), a full day before they air on Fuji TV.
Amazon Prime Video will begin streaming new episodes of this spring's Noitamina show Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress starting on Fridays at 3:00 a.m. after new episodes air on Fuji TV starting at 12:55 a.m. on Fridays.
The announcement also revealed that Amazon and Fuji TV plan to stream Noitamina series simultaneously outside of Japan, but the announcement did not state if the exclusivity agreement was only for Japan or worldwide. Additionally, the announcement did not state in which countries Amazon Prime Video plans to stream Noitamina series. However, the official website for Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress announced on Thursday that Amazon Prime Video will have the monopoly inside and outside of Japan for streaming of that series.
Roy Price, head of Amazon Studios, had reported on his official Twitter account in January that Amazon would stream Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress in Japan and in the United States. Price then retweeted an article by German website Animania that reported last week that Amazon has the worldwide streaming rights to the anime, but he did not himself state that Amazon had the worldwide streaming rights to the anime.
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress will premiere on April 7 in Japan.
Fuji TV launched the Noitamina programming block in 2005. The current show airing on the block is ERASED (Boku dake ga Inai Machi).
