Egyptian God Medjed's Legacy Continues in Otome Game

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The obscure Egyptian god Medjed has enjoyed internet cult status for the last three years, ever since he appeared in an exhibit at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo. His simple yet cute appearance inspired fan art, web comics, mobile games, and eventually an appearance in Puzzles & Dragons.

A new otome game will add the ghost god as a possible romance partner in Egykoi! Egypt Kami to Koishi yo~ (Egy-love! Egyptian Gods and Love). The "surreal gag" otome game for smartphones lets players control the heroine as the choose to pursue either Medjed, Horus, or Anubis. Each of the three gods is outfitted in a school uniform despite their respective animal heads.

The official Twitter account will announce more details, like the game's release date, in the future.
