Million Arthur Smartphone Game Ends Service in N. America, Europe

Game's servers, forums will close on December 7

Gamevil announced last Wednesday that it will be "terminating all game services for North America and Europe servers on December 7, 2015" for the smartphone game Million Arthur.

The game also became unavailable for download last Wednesday, and the in-game shop closed at the same time. Gamevil has disabled all money transactions inside the game, and the company will refund players for remaining MC purchased through monetary transactions after the game's closure.

The game forums will also close on December 7.

Million Arthur made its way to North America and European mobile gamers in July.

Square Enix first released the mobile card game based on the folklore of King Arthur in Japan in 2012 as Kaku San Sei Million Arthur. South Korean publisher Gamevil brought the game to North America and Europe in 2015, after Square Enix closed the game's Japanese servers in March 2015.

The game inspired a live-action TV show last year, and it has also inspired the Jaku-San-Sei Million Arthur four-panel manga. An anime adaptation of the manga will start streaming this fall. Square Enix also released a sequel game, titled Kai-Ri-Sei Million Arthur, in Japan last November.

J.C. Staff animated the first game's opening animation sequence, and Ken'ichi Maeyamada (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, MM!, Shining Hearts: Shiawase no Pan-) wrote, scored, and arranged the featured "Million of Bravery" song for singer ChouCho (Eiyū Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki The Animation, Heaven's Memo Pad).

Kazuma Kamachi (A Certain Magical Index) wrote for the first game. A team of more than 50 illustrators worked on the Kaku-San-Sei Million Arthur cards, including major figures such as Kiyotaka Haimura (A Certain Magical Index), Yūichi Tanaka (A Certain Magical Index, Natsu-iro Kiseki), Hidari (Fractale, Natsu-iro Kiseki), Miho Takeoka (Bungaku Shōjo), Suzuhito Yasuda (Durarara!!, Yozakura Quartet), BUNBUN, Takehito Harada (Disgaea), Kouhaku Kuroboshi (Sky Girls), Tinkle (Ro-Kyu-Bu!), VOFAN (Bakemonogatari, Tokitowa), and Yasu (Toradora!). Hyadain composed the soundtrack.
