Manga of Free! Anime's Predecessor High Speed! to Be 2 Volumes Long

posted on by Egan Loo

Kyoto Animation updated the website for the manga of High Speed!, Kōji Ōji and Futoshi Nishiya's light novel project that inspired the Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club television anime, on Tuesday. According to the website, the complete High Speed! Comicalize manga by Shiori Teshirogi (Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas - Meiō Shinwa) will ship in two volumes in August. Each volume will cost 550 yen (about US$4.50).

The website also posted a story introduction and character profiles for Haruka, Makoto, Nagisa, Rin, Aki (a swimming club member who had gone to same elementary school as Haruka), and Gorō Sasabe (the swimming club coach). Whereas the Free! anime centers on Haruka and the other swimmers during high school, High Speed! followed them during middle school.

High Speed! -Free! Starting Days-, the film inspired by the High Speed! novel, will open in Japan on December 5.
