Diomedéa Production Assistant Opening Lists 1,800,000 Yen Salary

posted on by Carlos Cadorniga

The Japanese animation studio Diomedéa currently has a position open for a new production assistant, offering a 1,800,000 yen yearly salary, which equates to roughly US$14,500 a year. The position also offers flexible working hours. The selected candidate's wage will also be dependent on their experience.

The job is being offered for full-time and is open to those currently working as well as 2016 college graduates. General roles include managing the producer's time, management of outsourcing costs and general morale maintenance. The opening encourages applicants to be experienced in Microsoft Excel and Photoshop. The mission statement professes a strong sense of teamwork is required and anyone applying to join this team must create something special. diomedéa is looking for someone courteous and friendly, eager to learn within the industry, and even prepared to teach.

Online and paper applications are being accepted up until July 28. Applicants will hear back as early as August 4 and be interviewed on August 15.

diomedéa has produced several anime including an anime adaptation of Gingitsune and more recently, 2015's magical boy anime Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! The studio is animating the summer season's Kūsen Madōshi Kōhosei no Kyōkan magical action anime.

Compared to other jobs within the anime industry, this position pays far more generously than others. According to a 2013 survey, young animators in Japan only make about 1.1 million per year (about US$9,198). Japan-based American animator Henry Thurlow has stated that there were times when he would earn as little as US$300 for a month of work.

Amount corrected, thanks srlracing
