Pixelmon Mod Brings Playable Pokémon to Minecraft

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Users have recreated all kinds of worlds within the PC game Minecraft including Tokyo Disneyland, the setting of Spirited Away, and one of the districts from Attack on Titan.

One user has gone further, creating a whole mod for the game emulating GAME FREAK and Nintendo's Pokémon. Called Pixelmon, players can download trainer skins for Steve and locate, catch, and train a bevy of monsters from five generations. Some even MegaEvolve!

The Pokémon replace Minecraft's usual sheep, pigs, and cows. If you're feeling especially adventurous, you could recreate the game's environments to match those from the game. YouTube user MediocreJake recreated FireRed's Kanto region and put it on a server players can visit.
