Jun Maeda composes, writes lyrics for both theme songs for series premiering in July

The official website for Jun Maeda's Charlotte anime announced on Saturday that Lia and Aoi Tada will perform the opening and ending theme songs, respectively. Maeda is composing and writing the lyrics for both songs.

Additionally, the band ZHIEND and the vocalist Marina will perform the background music. Maeda will also produce the background music compositions. Hikarisyuyo will compose the songs.

Lia previously performed theme songs for Angel Beats!, Clannad, Wizard Barristers, Little Busters! Refrain, and Air, among others. Tada previously performed theme songs for Aquarion, Angel Beats!, and Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino.

The second promotional video for the series began streaming earlier this month.

Yoshiyuki Asai will direct the anime at P.A. Works from an original concept and scripts by Maeda. Kanami Sekiguchi is adapting Na-Ga's original character designs. Maeda will also compose and write lyrics for the music in the anime.

The anime will premiere in July.

The story centers around the special abilities that occur among a small percentage of boys and girls in puberty. Yū Otosaka uses his power without others knowing, and lives a fairly normal, average school life. Before him suddenly appears a girl, Nao Tomori. Due to his meeting with her, the fate of special power-users will be exposed.

Key's is releasing the anime in celebration of its 15th anniversary, and the series will be Maeda's 2nd original anime work, with the first being Angel Beats! in 2010.
