Hungry Joker creator's series launches next Monday

Viz Media's digital magazine Weekly Shonen Jump announced on Monday that it will debut Yūki Tabata's Black Clover next Monday as part of its "Jump Start" initiative. Tabata (Hungry Joker) will launch the series that "takes us on an enchanted journey into a world of magic and fantasy" on the same day in Japan.

Viz Media launched a "Jump Start" initiative in North America last September. Under this initiative, Viz's digital English version of Weekly Shonen Jump will run the first three chapters of "almost every single" new series that debuts in Shueisha's original Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in Japan.

Viz launched Psyren creator Toshiaki Iwashiro's Kagamigami (Mirror God) this week as the first in this round of "Jump Start" manga. The other titles that will premiere in Shueisha's Shonen Jump in coming weeks are Kaizō Ningen Roggy (Cyborg Roggy) by Yū Miki and Ultra Battle Satellite by Yūsuke Utsumi (Gado-den).

Update: The magazine also confirmed that it will premiere Cyborg Roggy in its February 23 issue and Ultra Battle Satellite in its March 2 issue. As usual, all four "Jump Start" series are slated to run for at least three chapters.
