2015 Dragon Ball Z Film Listed on April 25

posted on by Egan Loo

The website for the Cinema City theater in Tokyo's Tachikawa City lists the 2015 Dragon Ball Z film as opening on April 25. It also lists the film as 120 minutes long, but Japanese theaters often list that length as a placeholder until the finalized runtime is known. (A theater chain listed Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo as 120 minutes long during production, but the final film without extras was 95 minutes long.)

Dragon Ball manga creator Akira Toriyama is personally credited with the original concept, screenplay and character designs of the new movie "that the entire universe eagerly awaits!!" The movie will open during the Golden Week string of holidays next spring (April 25 is the Saturday before those holidays next year), and a flyer revealed that Dragon Ball Z animation director Tadayoshi Yamamuro will direct the new movie.

The new film, like last year's Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, will tell a new story.
