Your lie in April Manga's Spring Finale, Anime's 3rd Trailer Unveiled

3rd key visual revealed for series with publicity led by Nodame Cantabile's Mongoose

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Naoshi Arakawa's Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (April is Your Lie) manga began streaming the third trailer on Sunday. The Nodame Cantabile anime's Mongoose makes a special appearance at the beginning of the trailer as the leader of the Kimi Uso cheering squad. The anime will premiere on Fuji TV's Noitamina block on October 10 at 1:15 a.m.

Kaori: Are you able to forget? I'll go with all I have so that the people who hear me won't forget me... So that I can always live in that person's heart. That's my reason for existing. After all, I'm a musician... The same as you.
Kōsei: I'm the kind of person who threw away his precious sheet music! I'm a failure as an instrumentalist.
Kaori: Even so, you can pick them up again, and look straight at those pages of the sheet music. That's how an even more beautiful lie can be born. We're still 14! Let's just dive right into it!
Tsubaki: It's painful to watch. Kōsei is just... So half-assed right now. Since that day, Kōsei, he just... He hasn't gone anywhere.
Kōsei: Mom...!
Kaori: Look at me. Raise your head. Look at me. It's because you're always looking down that you're being locked in the cage of music scores.
Ryōta: A girl will teach you if it's impossible or not.
Kaori: Are you still afraid? You're looking down again. Everyone's afraid of getting on stage. You might mess up. You might be completely rejected. Even so, you have to grit your teeth and get up on stage. We perform by being moved by something. It's all right. You can do it.
Ryōta: I will move, strongly, like a heartbeat. I can hear your sound...! You're here!
Kaori: Up ahead might be only dark roads. Even so, you have to believe and move ahead. You have to believe that the stars will light your path at least a little. Now, let's depart on our journey.
Kaori & Ryōta: Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso.

An advance screening of the anime's first two episodes was held at United Cinema Toyosu in Tokyo on Sunday. The event announced that the manga will conclude in spring 2015, and the anime will run for two cours and adapt the manga through the last chapter.

The anime's six main cast members appeared at the screening and held a talk event. Mongoose appeared alongside the voice actors and was formally installed as leader of the anime's cheering squad. The character will appear in the anime's promotional content such as trailers.

The official website also added the series' third key visual on Sunday:

Arakawa's original shōnen manga follows Kōsei Arima, a former child prodigy who lost his ability to play the piano when his mother died. His daily life is monochrome, but it begins to gain color when he meets a female violinist by chance. Kaori Miyazono is an audacious go-getter who is overflowing with personality. Enchanted by the girl, Kōsei starts to move forward with his own legs at the age of 14.

The anime's cast includes:

Natsuki Hanae as Kōsei Arima

Risa Taneda as Kaori Miyazono

Ayane Sakura as Tsubaki Sawabe

Ryota Ohsaka as Ryōta Watari

Yūki Kaji as Takeshi Aiza

Saori Hayami as Emi Igawa

Kyōhei Ishiguro (Fairy Tail, Psycho-Pass episode director) is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures off scripts by Takao Yoshioka (High School DxD, WATAMOTE). Yukiko Aikei (Accel World, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere) is serving as character designer and chief animation director. Masaru Yokoyama (Queen's Blade, Freezing Vibration) is composing the music, while Jin Aketagawa (High School DxD, anohana) is sound director. Goose House is performing the opening theme song "Hikaru Nara" in addition to cover songs for the anime's commercials.

Aniplex Channel, Hulu and Crunchyroll will begin streaming the series when it premieres in Japan.

The manga debuted in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2011, and the tenth compiled volume will ship in Japan on October 17. The series won the Best Shōnen Manga category in Kodansha's 37th Annual Manga Awards last year.
