The Hamatora mixed-media project was announced in Young Jump last November and began with a manga by writer Yukinori Kitajima (428 ~Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de~, Senran Kagura, Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney) and artist Yūki Kodama (Blood Lad), with a television anime, video game, "and more" to follow.

The Hamatora television anime premiered on January 7, and Crunchyroll is streamed it into several countries as it aired in Japan. The sequel Re:␣Hamatora (Reply Hamatora) will premiere this July on TV Tokyo and other stations.

Hamatora: Look at Smoking World will ship in Japan on July 17.
