Doraemon Exhibit Heads to Hawaii

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The Doraemon Exhibition originally presented at the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum is heading overseas for the first time. The "Meet! Doraemon" exhibit will be shown in at the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum in Honolulu, Hawaii. The exhibit opens on February 15 and will run until April 20.

The museum will hold a special launch day event on February 15 where fans can meet the iconic robotic time-traveling cat and participate in kid-centric ("keiki") activities. The exhibit will feature large statue-like images of Doraemon characters and interactive stations to explore the Doraemon universe. The magical “anywhere door” will make an appearance and Nobita's room is also recreated for visitors to explore.

A video theater will run clips from Doraemon movies and a special art gallery will showcase original artwork from the series' creator, Fujiko F. Fujio.

The Fujiko F. Fujio Museum opened in Kawasaki, Japan in 2011.
