Gantz's Hiroya Oku Outline New Inu Yashiki Manga Series

Interview with Oku to be published before "Dog Mansion" begins in January

The first 2014 issue of Kodansha's Evening magazine is announcing on Tuesday the first details of the next serialized manga from Hiroya Oku (Gantz, HEN). Oku is drawing the series, titled Inuyashiki (Dog Mansion).

This year's 53rd issue of Kodansha's Morning magazine announced on Thursday that a new series from Oku will launch in the fourth 2014 issue of Evening on January 28. The next two issues of Evening will have special features in a countdown to the start of Inu Yashiki. The second issue of 2014 will include an interview with Oku. A “super-extravagant” plan will be unveiled in the third 2014 issue before the manga debuts in the following issue.

Oku launched his Gantz manga in Young Jump in 2000. The "Final Phase" of the manga began in 2009, and the manga ended earlier this year with 37 compiled volumes published.

The manga inspired a television anime series animated by Gonzo and released by ADV Films in North America. NEW PEOPLE Entertainment released the two live-action film adaptations in North America. Dark Horse Comics published the 29th English volume of the manga in North America last month.

Oku and manga creator Hideo Yamamoto (Homunculus, Ichi the Killer) collaborated on a one-shot manga called "Yume Onna" (Dream Woman) that Morning published on Thursday.

Update: Yamamoto is listed for the "Yume Onna" one-shot, not the Inu Yashiki series.
